Adult Moles are about 6in (15cm) long, with dense, dark brown fur. Female a litter of four or so per year. They do not feed on plants, but their activities can undermine them, This damage is usually in the form of tunnels and/or mounds in lawn that can be unsightly, disturb root systems, and provide cover or travel lanes for other small mammals.

The common mole is an insectivore, not a rodent. Its diet is restricted to ground invertebrates such as grubs, millipedes, ants and the like.
